Jack is owned by our Vice-President Ronnie.......below is their story
I acquired Jack as an ex-racehorse due to him being too slow for the track.
He's hopefully to be my next life long equestrian partner to replace my aged mare Ruby who recently passed away in the retirement paddock. (Ruby was 22 years old. I had had her since she was 13 months old)
So started the long, (and slow) process of re-educating Jack to consider a life outside racing. I have now owned Jack for 6 years. The first 3 years was mainly spent on ground work with some ridden work, as he was very immature in both mind and body.
Later, we explored trail riding, western, show jumping, dressage, hacking and even a One Day Event and gymkhana together. We still have a long way to go. The learning process of both horse and rider is an ongoing process.
Then my personal circumstances had changed with the birth of my daughter Rachael, although initially it was difficult to combine family life with a horse, with the support from my partner and good friends, I was able to continue being involved in a " horsy lifestyle".
